Terms of Service

Version 2 · Effective October 22, 2026 · Broodstock Technologies, LLC

These Terms govern your use of broodstock.app and everything on it (the “Service”), provided by Broodstock Technologies, LLC, an Idaho limited liability company (“Broodstock,” “we,” “us”).

1. Agreement

By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service for a business, you confirm you can bind it. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract.

3. Your account

You are responsible for your login, for the people you add to your operation, and for the accuracy of what you enter. Tell us promptly if you think your account has been accessed without permission.

4. Plans and payment

Broodstock offers Pet (free), Keeper, Breeder and Business plans with the animal, user and feature limits shown on the pricing page and in Settings → Billing. On Business you can add extra animal capacity in packs of 100 for an added recurring fee. Paid plans and add-ons are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through Stripe, and renew automatically until canceled. Payments are non-refundable as described in Billing & Refunds. We may change prices or plan limits with reasonable advance notice; a change does not affect a period you have already paid for. You are responsible for any applicable taxes. If you ever subscribe through the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store’s billing and refund rules apply to that purchase.

5. Your content

You own everything you enter or upload (“Your Content”). You give us a limited license to host, process and display it only as needed to run the Service for you, including sending it to the service providers that help us do that. You promise you have the right to upload it and that it doesn’t break any law or anyone’s rights. We do not sell Your Content and we do not use it to train AI models.

6. Acceptable use

To keep Broodstock safe for everyone, you agree not to:

If you break these rules, we may restrict, suspend or permanently delete your hub and remove you from the Service, without notice where the violation is serious. Doing so is an account-level action and does not require us to open your hub or ask for your approval.

7. Your responsibilities as a breeder

You alone are responsible for complying with every law, permit and licensing requirement that applies to your animals and your business. Broodstock is a record-keeping and productivity tool. It is not legal, veterinary, tax or financial advice, and its compliance and report tools do not guarantee compliance or correct tax treatment.

8. AI features and planning tools

AI output, including Ranger, care guides, genetics and incubation figures, and Cash Flow categorization, can be wrong or incomplete and is provided for information only. You are responsible for reviewing it before you rely on it or share it with customers. Ranger never carries out a plan that changes your records until you approve it. The genetics calculator, Pairing Planner, incubation dates and reports give estimates for planning only: offspring traits, health, hatch timing and value are not guaranteed. See the AI Disclaimer.

9. Your storefront and sales

If you turn on a storefront, the shop details and the animals you mark available are public. Broodstock is a record-keeping and listing tool. We are not a party to any sale, deposit, hold, guarantee, shipment or transfer between you and a buyer, and we don’t process, hold or refund payments between you; buyers pay you directly through your own payment link or method. You are responsible for your listings being accurate, for the deposit, guarantee and shipping terms you offer, and for making sure every sale and transfer is legal where you are and where the buyer is, including wildlife, CITES, interstate and permit rules. We may hide a listing or a storefront that we believe breaks these Terms or the law.

10. Your buyers’ information

When buyers send an inquiry, join your waitlist or email your Broodstock inbox, we store their details for you and process them only to run the Service for you. You decide how that information is used and you are responsible for it: use it only to deal with that buyer, and follow the privacy and anti-spam laws that apply when you contact them.

11. Support access

Broodstock staff may enter your hub strictly to provide support. We will not access your hub without an email confirmation that you must approve, and we log our own access whenever we enter a hub for any reason. Broodstock staff review messages and requests that Ranger flags or holds, without opening your hub.

12. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available but don’t promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may perform maintenance and may add, change or remove features.

13. Cancellation and termination

You can cancel anytime from Settings → Billing → Manage billing. We may restrict, suspend, delete or end accounts that break these Terms, for non-payment, or where the law requires, and we may also remove anyone whose conduct puts other users or the platform at risk. Because these are account-level actions, they do not require the hub-access approval described in Section 11, and fees already paid are not refunded. If we have to remove an account for breaking Section 6, access to its hub ends at that point. Because removal is reserved for serious breaches, we don’t provide an export or copy of that hub’s records, we can’t offer compensation for them, and we may delete them. We may also keep, use and share those records where needed to enforce these Terms, protect other users, comply with the law or work with authorities; this part continues to apply after the account is closed. Otherwise, you can delete your account and every hub you own at any time from Settings → Delete account, which removes their data right away, except records we must keep by law (such as billing records held by Stripe).

14. When a paid plan ends

This section applies to hubs created on or after October 22, 2026. It starts when a paid plan ends: you cancel it, or a payment fails and Stripe stops retrying. A payment that is still being retried doesn’t start it.

Choosing a paid plan during the download window keeps everything as it is, with no fee. We email the hub’s owner when the plan ends, before the hub is archived, when it is archived and before it is deleted, but these dates apply even if an email doesn’t reach you. You can still delete your account yourself at any time, which deletes everything right away.

De-identified genetics outcomes. When a hub is deleted at the end of its archive, we may keep a de-identified record of its breeding outcomes: the species, the genes recorded for each pairing’s parents, how many offspring were recorded with each combination of genes, and the clutch year. It contains no names, notes, photos, account or animal identifiers, or anything else that links back to you or your hub. We use it only to improve the genetics calculator. We never sell it and never use it to train AI. Nothing is kept when you delete your account yourself.

15. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We back up the Service but don’t promise data will never be lost, so keep your own copies of important records with Settings → Your data → Download everything.

16. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Broodstock Technologies, LLC and its owners are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, animals or livestock, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose or US$100. Some places don’t allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

17. Indemnity

You will defend and hold us harmless against claims arising from Your Content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of law or anyone’s rights.

18. Governing law

Idaho law governs these Terms. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Ada County, Idaho, and you consent to that jurisdiction.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give notice (by email or in the app) before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service afterward means you accept the update.
