Each record holds band, species, sex, mutation, line, photos and parentage, with an inbreeding estimate (COI) from the pedigree. Find any bird fast, at the desk or on your phone.

Z-linked genetics, not a guess
Pick a cock and a hen and Broodstock works out the odds for recessive, dominant, incomplete dominant and Z-linked (sex-linked) mutations. Sex-linked results come as separate son and daughter tables, and hens have no hidden carrier state, following the ZW model. Every plan also has a monthly AI allowance, shown as a meter in the app. If it runs out, Ranger pauses until it resets on the 1st, and your records, alerts and reminders keep working. Questions breeders ask
Which birds can I track in Broodstock?
Any bird species. The genetics reference traits currently cover budgies, cockatiels, peach-faced lovebirds, Indian ringnecks, zebra finches and diamond doves.
Does the calculator handle sex-linked mutations?
Yes. Z-linked traits show separate odds for sons and daughters, and hens carry no hidden copy, following the ZW model birds use.
Can I record band numbers?
Yes. Every bird record has its own band field, alongside sex, mutation, line and parentage.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Pet plan is free for up to 10 animals: care logs (feeding, weights, sheds, health notes), medication records, records, pedigrees, inbreeding (COI) and the genetics calculator with welfare warnings. Paid plans start at $10 a month.
